“We are not separate from God. It is only the habit of identifying our attention and awareness
with mental processes and objective phenomena that causes and sustains, the illusion of “otherness.”
We came to this mundane realm from inner space, from the pure realm of God to which we are destined to return.
Our sojourn on earth is but for a relatively brief duration of time.
We need not wait for the incident of physical death
and then hope to become aware of our origins.
By understanding our relationship to the Infinite we can live as we are meant to
live here and now.”

Roy Eugene Davis

March 9, 1931 – March 27, 2019

Roy Eugene Davis was born in 1931 in Leavittsburg, Ohio and grew up in a farming community. When he was 18 years of age, he read the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda and sensed a spiritual connection with Yogananda and the Patanjali Kriya Yoga tradition. In December 1949, he traveled to Los Angeles, California, to meet Yogananda and was accepted for discipleship by Yogananda.

Roy Eugene Davis was ordained to teach Kriya Yoga by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1951 and was appointed as the minister of the Phoenix, Arizona Self-Realization Fellowship Center in 1952. In late 1953, shortly after Yogananda left his physical body, he left SRF intending to learn to live in the secular world; but remained permanently consistent in his relationship with the Kriya Yoga tradition and in presenting the teachings in a straight, practical and honest way and in serving for the whole. After completing his 2 years military service in Medical Corps, he began his mission as an independent spiritual teacher. He lectured and conducted seminars in more than 100 cities in North America and in Japan, Brazil, Europe, West Africa, and India and wrote books on Patanjali Kriya Yoga. Some of his books were published in 13 languages and in 11 countries. He is also the writer of the “Truth Journal” and “Radiance” magazines which are continually published for CSA members and initiates.

In 2009, Roy Eugene Davis visited Turkey and conducted a Patanjali Kriya Yoga seminar and offered an initiation service to Sabiha Betûl’s yoga group. He met the disciples. On the second day of his visit (April 29, 2009), he conducted a comprehensive Kriya Yoga seminar to around 300 participants who came to Ankara from different regions of Turkey and initiated the aspirants to Kriya Yoga.

The Center for Spiritual Awareness (CSA) which is founded in 1964 by Roy Eugene Davis who left his physical body on March 27, 2019, continues to provide regular retreats and services to sincere truth seekers.

His recent books have all been translated into Turkish by Sabiha Betûl Center for Spiritual Awareness and published by Gazi Bookstore. www.gazikitabevi.com.tr ; for English books: www.csa-davis.org.
